Will Sports and Live Entertainment Ever Come Back?

Yes it will, when the time is right. And we are bullish about the future.

It is more than obvious that sports and live entertainment have been one of the most severely impacted businesses due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. With CDC guidelines prohibiting large events and mass gatherings all the major sports leagues have postponed games and suspended/delayed the opening their seasons with a return date TBD. Concerts and live theater events have either been postponed or canceled altogether.

At Take Me Out Tickets we fully support these measures to reduce the spread of the virus. Obviously, our business has been severely impacted as a result, but we understand that the health and safety of our customers and the public at large is of the utmost importance during this unprecedented health crisis and we are doing out part to “flatten the curve.”

When the time is right sports and live entertainment will be back and we will be there for you. Until then, I wanted to let you know what we are doing as a business and why we think sports and live entertainment has a bright future when the health crisis is over.

First of all, we are still open for business. We have always worked remotely anyway, and most purchases and ticket deliveries are done electronically. So you can still purchase tickets for events at our new and improved website TMOTickets.com. While the NBA has suspended its season, Major League Baseball still expects to begin in mid May. Most concerts and events scheduled for May and beyond have not been canceled or postponed. Many events for the Fall are now onsale and have not been impacted. Obviously, the further out the event the more likely it will not be impacted by postponements or cancellations.

Remember, if your event has been or gets canceled, we will process a full refund for your purchase within 7 business days of cancellation. If your event has been or gets postponed, hang onto your original tickets, more than likely the original ticket will be valid for the rescheduled date. We will do our best to keep you informed of any cancellations, postponements, and reschedule dates.

I know this is a hard time for everyone. But we remain optimistic about the future and about live events in particular. After the nation emerges from mandatory and self imposed quarantine, sports and live events are going to play a huge role in bringing us all back to some sense of normality. While economic times will be tough, we will survive this challenge and emerge stronger. We hope Take Me Out Tickets can play a role in returning your life to normalcy when live events start happening again. We will be there for you when the time is right.

Until then, please take care, stay healthy, follow guidance to stay at home, work on some long neglected projects, read a book, take care of family.
