4 Tips For Scoring Cheap(er) Hamilton Tickets in Atlanta

4 Tips For Getting A Good Deal Tickets On Hamilton In Atlanta

Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hit Broadway musical Hamilton has arguably the hottest tickets to ever hit Broadway. According to its producers, Hamilton broke records for pre-sales before its Broadway debut last summer, and recently, producers raised the price of 200 premium tickets from $475 to $849, making it the most expensive premium ticket on the Great White Way.

So it’s no surprise that tickets for Hamilton's May residency in Atlanta are currently outrageously overpriced. While tickets currently going for more than $600 we thought this would be an apropos time to deliver some tips for saving money when buying your Hamilton tickets.

#1. BE REALISTIC
You probably aren't going to be able to see this show for a couple of hundred bucks (all-in) however, prices will definitely come down from the $600 threshold they currently reside at.
If you look at the price history for the other cities that the touring production has stopped in you can usually find weekday tickets for $200-$300 per ticket, and we expect the same thing here in Atlanta, as we get closer to showtime.

#2. WAIT

According to our data ticket prices decrease as an event approaches in 45 to 55 percent of events. The reason for this is seller anxiety. As an event approached sellers start realizing that if they don't get rid of the ticket they will be at a complete loss, which creates downward pressure on pricing.

#3 DON'T PANIC

Hamilton is in Atlanta for 3 weeks and the show plays 8 times per week and there are 4,500 seats per show. That means there are 120,000 seats for the run or the equivalent of a couple of Taylor Swift concerts at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. In other words, there are going to be seats available if you wait it out, the only thing that will fluctuate is the price.

#4 BE FLEXIBLE
If you are looking for better prices you can't insist on seeing a Sunday matinee or Friday or Saturday night show.  If you are ok with a Wednesday night you will spend far less on the ticket.  A good example of this is the current variance in price from week-to-week. The first two weeks of shows are much more expensive than the third.
