First Look & Review: Mercedes-Benz Stadium

First Look & Review: Mercedes-Benz Stadium

Move over Jerry Jones! Your little house of the prairie is old news. Mercedes-Benz Stadium officially provides the best fan experience is all of sports.

Here's a look at what the "New Dome" has to offer:

Before we jump into the preview here are 3 things YOU MUST KNOW before attending a event at MBS:

#1. Clear Bag Policy: Only clear bags are allowed into Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Ladies this means even your tiny clutch will have to be bagged checked outside of the stadium and picked up after the game. We suggest to minifying to an I.D., credit card, MARTA Breeze Card & cash.

#2. No Paper Tickets: Atlanta is leading the digital ticketing charge. The Falcons, Braves & United are all completely paperless for tickets now. You now get your tickets through the Falcons app.

#3. Parking: Is a MONSTER! Don't even bother with it. MARTA & Lyft are your best bets. The stadium actually partnered with Lyft and have a parking lot dedicated to drop off's & pick-ups.

Ok now on with the good stuff...

Walking Up

"The building speaks for itself," Falcons CEO and president Rich McKay

Entry was super easy and there are tons of well staffedd access points. Pro-tips:

#1. Take the Vine City MARTA exit over the Phillips Arena. It's actually closer to the stadium.

#2. Walk to the backside of MBS, there is a rarely used entrance that seems "VIP", but is actually open to anyone.

Expansive

This is the view from end zone where most people will enter. You are immediately shocked by how big the stadium is.

The Roof

"We built the building to play outside, so unlike some stadiums that have retractable roofs, we really wanted to look and make this feel and act like an outdoor stadium," Jenkins said. "So we are completely weatherproof. So we can take rain, and football season here in Atlanta is a perfect time to be outside."
The roof will remain closed for the beginning of the football season, but teams will later have the option to open or close it, weather permitting, per stadium execs.

Food

MBS has an incredible selection of food and drinks ranging from the high end Molly B's (they serve prime rib) to local favorites like Fox Brothers to your stadium staples.

The best part is that the stadium has an initiative called "Fan First" menu pricing  where you get a hot dog, a refillable soda, a popcorn and a pretzel for $8. I don’t think there’s a sports venue in the country that can say that. (notice they also have a $5 beer option!)

There are 1,264 beer taps and Atlanta restaurant options on every concourse, too. Ever wanted an adult slushie that is "loaded with Tito’s vodka?" Kevin Gillespie's Gamechanger has you covered.

There are also twelve different "neighborhood bars" feature food, drinks, and TVs and all have a view of the game.

Views

Whether it be the window to the city of the sightlines from any seat in the stadium the views at Mercedes-Benz Stadium are amazing.

This is the view from the standing area in the Mercedes-Benz Club. Not to shabby.

Clubs & Premiere Seats

Every ticket in Mercedes Benz Stadium gives you access to a different "Club." All of them are perfect places to get away from the noise and enjoy a cocktail or bite from the comfort of cushy chair.

Here's a look at few of the features

The Mercedes-Benz Club is a field level club featuring a on field viewing experience of the game as well as access to special food and drink options.

The Gullwing Club is a exclusive "high end dining & viewing experience." It's so exclusive they wouldn't even let us in for a peek.

These mezzanine level suites that we lovingly refer to as the "cheap suites" give a great sideline view of the game, have super comfy reclining chairs and feature your own fridge stocked with your beverage of choice. The vibe feels like watching a game on your couch, except with your pants on.
If you buy field level seats you share the same hallway to the stadium as the players, even on game day.

Unique Features

Mercedes-Benz Stadium is filled with unique features & details that make the experience all that more memorable. Here are a few of our favorites:

This is a tribute to Georgia High School football. The exhibit features a helmet from every high school team in Georgia.

There are over 150 pieces of art created by local artists. This one sits above Molly B's, the restaurant named for Arthur Blank's mom.

This is the tunnel the Falcon's will rundown onto the field. Fan's with field level seats will be able to stand by and cheer as the team runs onto the field.

There are tons of interactive features at MBS: including a golf accuracy test, futbol kick velocity test & football tire toss. All of them for free.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium has achieved the goal of a modern sports venue: to make the experience at the game better than anything you could have at home or in a local bar. It features quality, affordable, varied food and drink options paired with a number of fan-first initiatives which all add up to making your experience worth the cost of the ticket...and it's all done in a spaceship.
